  • Softened butter: 200 g
  • Flour: 50 g
  • Semolina: 500 g
  • Sugar: 60 g
  • Baking powder: 11 g
  • Orange flower water: 4 tablespoons
  • Water: 150 ml
  • icing sugar
  • Large dates: 15

Instructions

Put the semolina, flour, baking powder, sugar and softened butter in the stainless steel bowlfitted with the mixer and the lid.

Mix on speed 1 for one minute until a non-homogeneous dough is obtained.

Add the orange flower water and water. Continue mixing until a smooth dough is obtained.

Leave to rest for 30 minutes in a cool place. Cut the dates in half.

After 30 minutes, form small balls of the dough.

Open the dough balls with your thumb, place half a date inside each and close them back up. Shape into balls.

Place on a buttered oven proof tray and make a pattern on the top of the balls with the tines of a fork, flattening the balls a little.

Cook for 10 to 15 minutes in the oven at 190°C.

When removed from the oven, sprinkle with icing sugar. Leave to cool on a wire rack and keep in an airtight container.
